Lightwater Valley Future Hopes

This is what I would like to see happen to Lightwater Valley in the future. Let me make this really clear – I have no idea what Lightwater Valley's finances are, no idea what their future plans include, and I take no note of planning permissions they will need. This is just done as a bit of fun. As time goes on and Lightwater Valley does change I will keep this updated.

Lightwater Valley have some cracking rides, The Ultimate and Raptor Attack are their top two, but who is going to argue that you cannot add anything to a theme park to make it better – there is always room for improvement, so here, with a theoretical unlimited budget, is what I would do to Lightwater Valley over the next 5 years or so.

Firstly, I feel there is a lot of wasted space between the bulk of the park and the Wave Pirate Ship. I would build a permanent Intamin Rapids Ride here, sprawling the area and would include a splash hill – a unique feature that we haven't got in the UK. This would enable the removal of the fairground rapids ride.

This space I would use to house a small, travelling Maurer Sohne spinning coaster – they pack a thrill and can look impressive. In turn this would enable the removal of the Treetop Coaster – there is no point having two spinning coasters in one park. In Treetop Coaster's space I would build a mini Ultimate. I don't have any manufacturer in mind, but a small to medium sized wooden coaster suitable for riders of 1.2m and above I think would be a nice addition.

I would add to the new Raptor Attack ride by adding a scary walk through full of dark coridors housing Raptors which will jump out at you – it has the potential to be very scary if done properly and people love this sort of thing at the moment!

I would add a Log Flume to the bottom end of the lake, using the last of the available space in the park. Future additions then would be able to utilise room inside the Ultimate circuit and also start to replace some of the older attractions.

After this I would build new attractions at the entrace of the park which would enable the park to stay open throughout the winter. A small farm next to the Lightwater Village would tidy the area up and tie in with the bird of pray centre. Also I would build a childs multi floor soft play centre within this new entrance area.

I don't pretend to be a planner, graphic designer or anything else, but I have mocked up a plan to try and help you see what my Lightwater Valley would look like.
